Two for the show: A pair of young designers capture inaugural competition to customize the award-winning izzy Nemo Trellis
NeoCon World’s Trade Fair 2013: June 10-12, 2013
The Merchandise Mart, Showroom 11-100
CHICAGO – June 2013 – The winners of a design challenge to create a cool and customized izzy Nemo Trellis unit will be featured along with their fullscale, fabricated concepts in the izzy+ showroom, Suite 11-100 in the Merchandise Mart, during NeoCon 2013.
The winning designers, Lindsey Salazar of Archideas in Chicago and Eda Muco of Dyer Brown & Associates in Boston, will be hosted by izzy+ during the show and will be part of a design team that izzy+ will take to Nicaragua in November for a design-focused service project.
Lindsey Salazar’s concept for the izzy Nemo Trellis blurs the boundaries between outdoor and indoor environments. Eda Muco’s entry makes the izzy Nemo Trellis more transparent by using perforated metal and translucent acrylic panels.
The design competition was staged as part of the annual izzy+ Valentine’s Day promotion, a major outreach to the architecture and design community. The designers will be featured in the showroom during the first half of the show, on Monday and again on Tuesday morning. Last year, the izzy Nemo Trellis and Bar won the Best of NeoCon Gold Award for Furniture Systems.
