Webster multipurpose chair from Fixtures Furniture by izzy+ wins Best of NeoCon® award
Tenth time in 11 NeoCon shows for izzy+ to earn industry honors for product excellence
CHICAGO – June 13, 2011 – At the 2011 Best of NeoCon competition, the Webster multipurpose chair won a Best of NeoCon Silver award for stacking seating. The chair, designed by a team from Australia’s bangdesign led by principal David Granger, is meant for a broad canvas of applications, from higher education to corporate and hospitality settings.
Boasting a clean and modern design, Webster gives new meaning to adaptability, space-saving functionality, sustainability and flexibility wherever it goes. The chair is the newest seating product from Fixtures Furniture by izzy+ .
“We wanted Webster to be strong and sustainable, but also beautiful, even inspirational,” said Granger.
Chuck Saylor, the founder and CEO of izzy+, praised Webster for its universal appeal. “You could see it in modern art museums, in learning places, multifunction rooms where you have to reconfigure on a regular basis, project-based spaces, to beautiful cafe applications,” Saylor said.
Webster moves smoothly on casters and it folds, nests or stacks even with the optional tablet arm attached. It’s available in 15 vibrant colors, and sturdily constructed of extruded and cast aluminum in its frame and polypropylene in its seat pan and back.
Like all chairs in the izzy+ family, Webster is designed for extreme comfort. Its seat gently cradles the user and its intuitive, articulating back allows the user freedom of movement along with providing passive ergonomic support.
Webster also is designed with the environment in mind, using recycled/recyclable materials with minimal impact on indoor air quality. It awaits BIFMA LEVEL certification.
The 2010 awards for izzy+ mark the 10th time in 11 years that brands and strategic partners of the izzy+ business have earned honors at NeoCon World’s Trade Fair, the North American exhibition of contract furnishings at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart.
