True to the companys new brand vision, Harter works with young, forward-thinking designers to realize Harters vision of todays collaborative workplace. Timothy deFiebre conceived the top forms of the settees as one continuous natural line that follows the sitters body contours supporting and moving away as necessary. Designed for offices, homes, hotels, and airport lounges, Harter Forum modular pieces allow any space to become an impromptu work area.
Timothy deFiebre graduated from Denison University with a BFA in theater and cinema. However, after college, he became interested in furniture design. He then studied technical design and production at the Yale School of Drama and attended the Parsons School of Design in New York. He began his career with Brickel Associates. Soon after, he became a design assistant and model maker for Ward Bennett, subsequently becoming the director of design for the furniture division. He later joined the ICF Group in New York, then worked with Geiger Brickel in Atlanta creating a number of new table and seating designs. In 2004 he curated and updated The Ward Bennett Business Classics Collection for Geiger. His numerous awards include an ID Annual Design Review honorable mention for tables, two IBD Gold Awards for seating, three Roscoe finalist awards for seating, and silver and gold Best of NeoCon awards. His work is also part of the permanent collections of the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum and the Chicago Athenaeum. In 1998, he founded Timothy deFiebre designs in New York City.
